Wojtek Sokół (born 1977, Warsaw) is a rapper, producer, lyrics writer notable for his compelling verses - hailed as the ”best storyteller” in Poland. The author of a cult track: ”Każdy ponad każdym”, and unforgettable ”Angela”, ”Uczę się uczuć”, ”Mogę wszystko”, and also the initiator and co-writer of lyrics to tracks ”W aucie” and ”W wyjątkowych okolicznościach”. Grand grandson of Stanisław Wyspiański (Polish dramatist and painter, a leading artist of the early 20th-century period) and son of Janek Sokół - the author of ironically tawdry lyrics from the 80s of the 20th century. Although he originates from the street trend, Sokół is known for his open-mindedness and diversity. He has cooperated with a lot of artists from all different walks of life: with Michał Urbaniak, Franek Kimono, Piotr Leniewicz and Karol Ludew from Moja Adrenalina, or Janek Młynarski and Michał Fox Król from15 Minut Projekt. He started his career in 1996 with ZIP Skład - the most numerous hip-hop group in Warsaw. In 2000-2005 he was a member of WWO (W Witrynach Odbicia / W Wyjątkowych Okolicznościach) along with Jędker and DJ Deszczu Strugi - it was the most recognizable Polish hip-hop group abroad with which Sokół recorded 4 albums. In 2002-2005 WWO experienced the peak of their activity - they played up to 150 concerts in Europe and in the USA per year. In 2005 he went to Havana for 1,5 months to record two tracks and videos with Cuban reggaeton group Los Sicarios. In 2007-2009 he recorded 3 albums with other ZIP Skład member - Pono, the first album was awarded Gold Record status. His music projects repeatedly earned him various hip-hop music prizes and nominations - Fryderyki, Yach Film Festival awards, Ślizgery, Miazgi, Asy Empiku, or Iglica Offensivy. He dubbed a lot of cartoons and also read an audiobook of Jakub Żulczyk’s ”Zrób mi jakąś krzywdę”.
Marysia Starosta (born 1981, Warsaw) is a vocalist, composer, lyrics writer. She started her music adventure already as a child after being accepted at the age of five to the music center in Polskie Radio where she participated for two years in a cyclical broadcast. There she recorded a single ”Kapcie tańczące” which won her a prize in a national children music contest. As a five-year-old girl Marysia recorded a track ”Trzej kosmici” which won the European contest in Debrecin, Hungary and was released there. Later she graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Music School (first and second level) in Warsaw. In 1989-1993 she sang in an academic choir with which she won international children choir contest in Arezzo. In 2001 Marysia was admitted to a prestigious Warsaw vocal school at Bednarska street, but she had to resign after a year as she was hired by TVN to TV musical ”Kwiaty we włosach” directed by Andrzej Strzelecki to start a two-year tournée across Poland. For several years she performed as a background choir artist for various performers including: Martyna Jakubowicz, Kombi, Golec uOrkiestra, De Mono, Piotr Polk, Joanna Dark and Krzysztof Krawczyk. Her voice can be heard on albums of Afromental, Vienio & Pele, Borys Szyc, Joanna Dark, Martyna Jakubowicz, Kombi, Robert M, Fu, Pokój Z Widokiem Na Wojnę and others. She contributed vocally to many TV and radio credits and repeatedly performed in TV and radio concerts for TVP, Trójka, Polsat and TVN. In 2008 she released her debut album ”Maryland” - produced by a hip-hop producer Matheo, Marysia herself and jazz saxofonist Grzech Piotrowski. Her single ”Nie ma nas” occupied for 6 months the RMF and VH1 charts.
Wojtek Sokół and Marysia Starosta are also a life couple. They recorded their joint album for two years. As they say, there was no need to hurry and they aimed to enjoy themselves first. They invited both Polish and foreign producers: Shuko with Hustle Heart, PH7, and Drumkidz from Germany, Jimmy Ledrac from Sweden, Brall from Canada, DJ Wich from the Czech Republic, and Siwers from Poland - all of them working for the best and most important artists from hip-hop, r’n’b and broadly defined urban music circles: Lil Wayne, B-Real, Saigon, Looptroop Rockers, Keith Murray, Birdman, Heltah Skeltah, Canibus, Evidence, Rasco, Thermanology, Talib Kweli, M.O.P., Big Noyd, Promoe, Akua Naru... just to list a few.
Sokół and Marysia also invited various DJs: Deszczu Strugi (WWO, ZIP Skład), Kebs (HIFI Banda) and DJ B (Molesta).
